Workplace First Aid Kits

With so many options, it is a little confusing to know exactly which first aid kit you should purchase. As a starting point, you will likely require one of our HSE workplace first aid kits as this will cover the everyday cuts, scrapes and grazes a normal office would likely encounter. However, the BS8599-1 workplace first aid kits feature a few extras, including burns dressings, face shields for CPR, foil blankets and clothing cutters so you’re a little better prepared for an emergency.

In terms of which side first aid kit to go for, this will depend on how many people are likely to be on-site at any given time. Small first aid kits are designed for 1-10 people, medium for 1-20 people and large for 1-50 people. When you have even more people, then multiple first aid kits will be required.

Of course, where you have additional risks, other first aid kits will be required to supplement your workplace first aid kit. Catering first aid kits are essential for food preparation areas, from B&Bs to commercial kitchens, and include blue plasters.

Eyewash kits and burns kits will be required where these types of injuries are likely, such as in manufacturing environments, and will often be identified as being required during risk assessments.
